Funeral Services for Bob Bittner, age 68, of O'Neill will be at 10:00 am Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill with Vicar Nancy Moore officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 pm in the Akron Cemetery in Akron, Nebraska. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Bob passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Biglin’s Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Lee Bittner was born in Spalding, Nebraska to Robert and Martha (Bloom) Bittner. He grew up on the family farm. They later moved into Bartlett where he graduated from Wheeler Central High School in 1970.

After high school, Bob worked as a ranch hand for a time, and at the gas station in Bartlett for many years. He then moved to Atkinson where he worked for the City Waste Department. Bob moved to O’Neill and worked for Cemper Equipment until his passing.

He enjoyed hunting, telling stories, and sitting in his garage, having a beverage, and relaxing.

Bob is survived by his special friend, Mary Sleister of O'Neill; two brothers, Gene (Laura) Bittner of Holyoke, Colorado, Frank (Deb) Bittner of Fullerton, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Emma Jean Bittner of Spalding, Jean Bittner of Albion; many nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog, Peewee.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Bittner, and Dick Bittner.

Mary and Bob's family, I am so sorry for the loss of Bob. I cut his hair for a long time he scooped my sidewalk every time it snowed. Such a helping person. May God bless and be with his friends and family during this sad time.

Mary I so sorry for your loss may God be with u all thru this hard time. Bob will be missed by many. I am so glad that I got to know him. I will miss seeing him at McDonald's telling me to smile all the time waiting for mary to get off work. Fly high with all those other angels until we meet again bob. God sure gained angel amazing angel. Rip bob go rest high that on that mountain u deserve it .
