Bill Ogden, age 66, of O’Neill, NE passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. It was Bill’s wish to be cremated and not have any services at this time. Memorials may be given to the family for future designation to the youth programs of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Biglin’s Mortuary of O’Neill is in charge of arrangements.

Billy Lee Ogden was born on May 29, 1954 in Weiser, Idaho to Sherman and Betty (Thompson) Ogden. He moved with his mother and eleven brothers and sisters to Ainsworth, Nebraska at a young age where he attended grade school before graduating from West Holt High School in Atkinson, Nebraska in 1972.

Bill married Jane Cozad in Atkinson on November 12, 1973. To this union two children were born, Michele and Mike. The family lived in the Atkinson area until moving north of O’Neill 25 years ago when Bill began working for O’Neill Farms. He continued working there until his health declined last year.

Bill loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He especially loved his hunting and fishing trips with his grandson Kaden. Even after he could no longer hold a gun himself, he and Kaden still managed to shoot a nice size deer this past fall. Bill also loved welding and was very good at it. He had a distinct style that is known across the state. Whether it was a swing set for Haley, windmills for Jane and Michele, or cattle panels for Ranchers, you knew it would be done right. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jane Ogden of O’Neill; daughter, Michele (Doug) Drahota of Norfolk, NE and their children, Kaden Sukup, Haley Sukup, Trent Kirby and Dominic Kirby; son, Mike Ogden of Glenwood, IA; six sisters, Janet (Gary) Hoffman of O’Neill, NE, Judy (Steve) Hagan of Atkinson, NE, Joan (Dan) Greger of Stuart, NE, Jean (Mark) Hamilton of Lincoln, NE, Joy Raasch of Marathon, IA and Janice Ogden of Omaha, NE; four brothers, Jerry (Patsy) Ogden of Harlingen, TX, Don (Ellen) Ogden of Pickstown, SD, Larry (Marlene) Ogden of Atkinson, NE, Gary (Pam) Ogden of South Sioux City, NE and many, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Terry Ogden, nephew, Brian Ogden and great nephew, Christian Miller.
