After graduating, Betty worked for Consumers Electric (now NPPD). She met Cecil Bishop while he was in town installing REA poles as an electrician. She also had a home studio where she worked for the O’Neill Photo Studio hand tinting photos. The couple were happily married for 39 years until Cecil passed away suddenly in 1993, after stomach cancer surgery.
